Emerald Green is 2013's Color of the Year!
By now, most designers have heard the news announced last week, that Pantone's color of the year for 2013 is Emerald. This announcement always comes with some interesting debate and opinions, but we are already seeing this color in fashion magazines and even in stores. The question is, how long before it becomes hotly requested by consumers for home interiors now that it is on everyone's radar?
Pantone's color of the year for 2012 was Tangerine Tango, and it did not take long at all for this sassy orange to show up on fashion runways and home interiors.
Shades of green have long been a color staple for fresh spring-time looks heralding the arrival of warmer weather and sunshine, but with this announcement we are likely to start seeing it as a cool-weather companion too.
One thing to keep in mind... just because a particular shade of green has been announced, designers are creative and will find alternative ways to personalize and freshen a color for their particular client. "If Emerald Green is too formal, let's try more of a Lime Green!"
What is your opinion of Pantone's color of the year?
