New Bath Trends - Houzz Survey
Houzz recently surveyed homeowners about their bath remodeling plans and results are reported HERE.
As with any survey, the results are interesting and point toward new trends and technologies that are or are becoming homeowner favorites. But regardless of surveys and trendwatching, YOUR personal preferences should always reign in your remodeling project.
Bathrooms and kitchens top the list for home renovations and of those surveyed, the master bath is the priority with more than half (58%) starting from scratch and gutting the room.
With regards to privacy, slightly more than half of respondents will NOT have a private area for the toilet (either behind a partition or behind a door). This preference for privacy looks to be more of an issue for older homeowners and less of an issue for the younger set (68% of 25-34 yr olds vs. 53% of 65+ years).
Although bathtubs are still popular in master baths, 43% of homeowners plan to skip the tub in their bathroom remodel and prefer to invest in the shower, with rain showers and multi-head showers and glass surrounds.
Most respondents (55%) are opting for double sinks and white is the popular color of choice for cabinetry, with brushed nickel hardware and faucets.
When asked the reason behind the remodel, 86% said to upgrade features and fixtures and to make the space more functional.
Of course cabinetry is a key design element in many of these decisions because it upgrades features, makes the space more functional and organized, and establishes the design or architectural tone of the space. Here are a few more stunning examples of Dura Supreme bath cabinetry featured on Houzz!
