Dura Supreme Cabinetry is proud to announce the launch of its newest Cerused Finish Collection, offering homeowners and designers a trendsetting artistic finish option that adds exceptional character and visual depth to Quarter-Sawn White Oak cabinetry.
The new collection showcases an artisan-crafted finishing technique that beautifully enhances natural wood grain through a sophisticated hand-applied process. Each Cerused cabinet features a subtle wash that highlights the distinctive grain patterns of Quarter-Sawn White Oak, creating a refined aesthetic that elevates any kitchen or living space.
“The Cerused finishing technique represents our commitment to artisan craftsmanship and attention to detail,” explains Karen Wistrom, ASID, NCIDQ, CMG, VP of Marketing for Dura Supreme Cabinetry, “Each piece is individually hand-finished by our professional artisans, ensuring unique character.”
The Cerused finishing process involves multiple hand-applied steps. After the stain is applied by hand and sealed, their professional artisans apply the Cerused finish to the entire surface and then hand-wipe the surface to highlight the open grain. The pigmented filler, historically called “liming” or “cerused” is a contrasting pigment that fills the open grain and highlights the grain texture with a soft contrast.
As an artistic, hand-detailing technique, Cerused finishes feature unique, subtle variations, with each application, ensuring that no two pieces are exactly alike. The finish also blends beautifully with painted finishes on cabinetry, offering designers versatile options for creating cohesive, custom looks.
The new Cerused Artisan Finish Collection is available in seven distinctive colors, providing designers and homeowners with trend-setting options to personalize their spaces with timeless elegance.
