Paired with diverse infill panels such as clear, frosted, or reeded glass, and even specialized laminates, they allow for creative customization. Often used with contemporary door styles, designers are pushing the envelope and incorporating them with traditional wood doors as well, elevating the overall design scheme and adding more texture.

Aluminum frames are a great way of adding glass front doors to contemporary materials that don’t offer a door that can be prepped for inserts, and also work with many of our wood doors for a more transitional look. ALUMINUM FRAME STYLE 1
This particular door is minimalism at its best! The skinny frame pairs perfectly with door styles like Reese and Paris, which are examples of skinny and narrow shaker style doors respectively. Several examples of this door are shown below, with the Onyx finish being the more popular frame finish. The different inserts change the overall feel of each stunning project.

ALUMINUM FRAME STYLE 3
This frame is more traditional in nature due to its 2-1/8″ wide stile and rail; however, the glass sits forward in the frame for the shallow shaker look that’s popular. The stunning project below features tall aluminum frame doors that are free of any intermediate rails for an uninterrupted view, while also being designed with end panels surrounding them to create an inset look.

ALUMINUM FRAME STYLE 4
This particular frame has a thin 9/16″ profile on the front side of the door, with a wider 1-3/4″ frame behind the glass, which adds an additional layer of dimension to the door style.

ALUMINUM FRAME 10
This particular Aluminum Frame door doesn’t really have a frame, at least not one that’s exposed when the door is closed. This door has a full glass panel that sits on top of the frame, giving you a very sleek and reflective surface that won’t scratch. You can only use the back painted glass options for this door, but with several finishes in both gloss and matte available, you can really add to the drama of the space like in the below project. Aluminum Frame 10 doors were used for the cabinets over the cooktop area and paired with the Choma Door in Paint Black with Cherry accents.
