The Big Reveal
After months of designing, planning and installation - my new Contemporary Craftsman inspired kitchen is finally complete! Overall the process of remodeling my kitchen has gone fairly smoothly. Don't get me wrong there have been a few bumps in the road and yes, the project took longer to complete than originally planned - but that's called remodeling and I wouldn't have it any other way!
I decided to use drawer bases for all my lower cabinetry as I prefer the overall look and function that they provide within the space. In order to maximize the storage I used Adjustable Drawer Partitions to keep everything nice and organized. For the wall cabinets, I extended them up to the ceiling and finished them off with a two piece crown molding at the top and a light rail on the bottom to conceal the new under cabinet lighting and power strips. In addition, adding a decorative panel to the dishwasher is a clever way to conceal the appliance within the cabinetry.
Dura Supreme's Flared Turned Posts (FL6) were added to the island in order to create a focal point along the back side of the island which is visible from both the living and dining rooms.
My goal when I began this journey was to create a Contemporary Craftsman inspired kitchen while updating the overall function or flow of the space. So, am I happy with the end result ... Absolutely!
